Maintenance of coatings
For wood with flaking or blistering paint: remove all defective coatings, including grey, weathered wood, if necessary stripping back and sanding down to bare wood. Treat all knots and prime all bare wood with Weathershield Exterior Preservative Primer. Fill surface defects or open joints with appropriate Polycell Polyfilla product. Then apply undercoat and gloss as above.
Painted wood in good condition with no flaking or blistering paint: thoroughly sand down. Treat any mould, algae, lichen or moss with an appropriate fungicidal wash.
